As you may have heard, The CW has picked their new shows for next season. The YA book The Selection by Kiera Cass was made into a pilot but was passed over for a full season pickup. The president of The CW says that there is hope for the show.
The cast is expected to change, but the CW and The Selection studio Warner Bros. TV are looking to keep the lead, Friday Night Lights‘ Aimee Teegarden who got high marks. The project is being put on a fast track and, if it comes together, could join the CW’s schedule in midseason. “I truly believe that there is a series in The Selection,” CW president Mark Pedowitz said after the network’s upfront presentation today.
This is fantastic news for all The Selection lovers out there! I'm curious as to why it was passed over in the first place. Possibly no chemistry between Aimee Teegarden and the male leads? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for midseason!
