Finnick casting has been pretty crazy, but it appears that we may have a decision cropping up in the near future. Sam Claflin (Snow White and the Huntsman) is rumored to have been offered the role. Lionsgate has yet to confirm it. Continue reading for more news!

I don't know if Claflin is exactly how I pictured Finnick, but he is an amazing actor. I first saw his work in The Pillars of the Earth, which is an amazing miniseries. If I had my way Armie Hammer would be Finnick, but alas...I'm not the casting director.

In other news, Jena Malone has responded to being cast as Johanna! She posted the photo below on her Instagram

Can you find Jena Malone? She's literally hanging off the Hollywood sign. That must be pretty scary. At least it would be for me. I'm not too good with heights.

What do you think about the casting for Finnick? Do you have a particular actor you'd like to see in the role? Is Sam Claflin a good fit? Comments below!

  1. Since I've read catching fire my pick for Finnick has been Alex Pettyfer.he is the only actor I see when I picture finnick.

  3. I do not like Finnick's casting one bit! Don't get me wrong the actor is fine. Although brief, I did enjoy his stint in Snow White and the Huntsmen but I don't picture him at all like Finnick. I really wish that they had gone with that other guy (on Weeds) who's name was being thrown out there. I just don't see it =(

  4. I totally agree that Armie Hammer was the perfect choice for Finnick! I was talking with a few gal pals and some ladies around my office at Dish, and we thought that he was for sure going to nab the part. He was absolutely perfect as that egotistical character in The Social Network and J. Edgar, so I know he would’ve done a great job as Finnick. Now I just want to rent those movies and reminisce about what could have been. At least renting them is super easy through the Blockbuster@Home service from my Dish account so, Armie, here I come!
