Melissa de la Cruz is the author best known for the Blue Bloods series. A pilot of her new series Witches of East End has been ordered by Lifetime for the 2013 season. Continue reading for more!

I haven't read any books in this series, but I have read the first book in Blue Bloods.Maggie Friedman wrote and will executive produce the pilot. She's best known for Dawson's Creek and Jack and Bobby. As a huge fan of both of those shows, I'm pretty excited for the adaptation!

Lifetime is known for shows like Drop Dead Diva, so I expect that the show would be light and drama filled fun! I'm hoping that the pilot gets picked up for series.

Based on Melissa de la Cruz’s best-selling novel, Witches of East End centers on the adventures of a mother and her two adult daughters — both of whom unknowingly are their family’s next generation of witches — who lead seemingly quiet, uneventful modern day lives in Long Island’s secluded seaside town of North Hampton. When one of the daughters becomes engaged to a young, wealthy newcomer, a series of events forces her mother to admit to her daughters they are, in fact, powerful and immortal witches.

Have you read the books? Are you a Melissa de la Cruz fan? Would you watch this TV show? Thoughts below!
