Huge news in the books into movies front! Deadline has confirmed that Vampire Academy has cast all three lead characters! That's right. We now have a Dimitri, Rose, and Lissa. Filming is expected to begin this summer. Continue reading to find out who the lucky actors are!
The protagonist of Vampire Academy is a seventeen-year-old half-human, half-vampire girl. She's pretty tough and arguably one of the most beloved kick-ass females in YA. So who landed the role as brazen Rose? Well that would be Zoey Deutch, best known for her upcoming role as Emily in Beautiful Creatures, another YA adaptation!
This is undeniably a fantastic casting choice! Not only does Deutch look like Rose, but I think she can pull off the fierceness that the character requires. While she looks much older than the seventeen-year-old girl she'll be playing, Zoey is in fact only eighteen. Another plus!
I'm so thrilled to have been cast in Vampire Academy as "Rose Hathaway". Mark&Dan Waters are brilliant artists&I could not be more excited!!

The best friend of Rose, Lissa is a full blooded vampire with some special gifts. The blonde beauty has pretty intense powers, so it will be important to get the casting just right. Who's Lissa? Lucy Fry, a newcomer from Australia!
I'm loving that they're choosing unknowns for these rolls. It makes the film so much more exciting. And there have been great actors to hail from Australia, so I'm loving Lucy Fry as Lissa.
Pretty much exactly how I pictured Dimitri. What's even better is that they cast a Russian, instead of someone who looks Russian. I think that this might be the smartest decision yet.
Fans are also rejoicing about the news. Seems like Dimitri and Rose have been cast to perfection. See the tweet below!
