Emma Roberts is most notable for her roles in movies, so it comes a bit of a surprise that she's taking the lead in a TV show. Though, it's pretty good news for fans. I think she's a great actress.

It doesn't mean I'm not a bit worried about the show. From comments, it seems like Delirium may be a bit on the slow side to be an engaging show. Hopefully they make some changes to liven it up!

Author Lauren Oliver approves the casting choice! Check out her tweet and tumblr below:

Like the casting choice? Did you picture a different Lena? Sound off below!

  1. I saw a picture of her the other day carrying around Delirium. I should have known! I really like her, though, and while she was not exactly who I pictured in the role, I'm definitely warming up to the idea the more I think about it.

  2. Awesome! I just heard about the show and can't believe they are already casting and that things are moving so quickly. I think she is a good choice. Lauren Oliver did say they will be changing and adding a lot of back story that isn't in the books to make the show more interesting for many seasons. I think it will be good!

  3. They could have done a lot worse with casting. I think Emma Roberts will be able to pull off Lena pretty well. I'm still not jumping-up-and-down excited about the Delirium TV adaptation but I suppose we'll see when some promo pics and trailers start popping up.

  4. Awesome! I'm surprised that the casting is going along so quickly! - I'm not over the moon about the adaption (it's one of my favorite series), but I'm excited to see how it all works out! I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE WHO THEY CAST AS ALEX. (:

  5. I like Emma Roberts so I'm happy about this update for Delirium. She's been in a lot of younger audience films (all of which I've seen, pretty much), but she has a wide range of humorous acting and it'll be interesting to see her deal with a satirical piece like Delirium and however they adapt it for the TV show. This is one of the more promising casting decisions I've heard of lately. I'll be looking forward to seeing who they cast for Hana and Lena's mother (if they cast her).

    Thanks for sharing, Krista!
