Books into Movies: 'The Maze Runner' Casts Gally, Alby, and Newt

The Maze Runner casting has officially begun! Gally, Newt, and Alby have all been cast. Some fans speak out against the Alby casting, and the director responds! Continue reading for more details!

Casting has jumped into overdrive for The Maze Runner. Last week we learned that Will Poulter was offered the role for the lead, but now he is officially cast as Gally. Described by The Maze Runner Wiki as, "a Glader who mistrusted Thomas from the beginning, turning into Tom's first enemy in the Glade." So Poulter will play a bad guy, but not the villain.

The second person to be cast is Alby, who will be played by Aml Ameenn. Alby is the leader of the Gladers.   Aml Ameenn's most notable performance was in the movie Red Tails.

The director took to twitter to confirm this news!

And there was some concern by fans that Aml Ameenn is too old to play Alby (he's 27), but the director tried to pacify those concerns:

Finally, Thomas Brodie-Sangster will join the cast as Newt, Alby's second-in-command. Brodie-Sangster is most known for his role as the little boy in Love, Actually but I know him as Paul Mcartney in the biopic Nowhere Boy. He'll also be seen on Game of Thrones this upcoming season! So I actually love this casting choice.

Casting seems to be doing well so far, but still no word on who will play Thomas. The movie is set to release February 14th 2014.

  1. Hmmm, I don't know, I think Aml looks young enough.
I really liked Maze Runner, and am excited about the movie :)

  2. I've never read Maze Runner, but all this buzz has me curious. I'm going to try and read it before the movie comes out.

  3. As the legal courts, marketers, and online book shops battle over e-book pricing-what is the highest possible price permitted, what type of costs is permitted for competitors, and what is reasonable to marketers and authors-the personal self-published writer can find himself distracted by misunderstandings. But e-book costs may actually be a lot easier than you think. daily crossword answers

  4. To be able to fly throw 80 legs or not. Does it matter? Consider this scenario: You're sportfishing a quick, bumpy stream, so instead of going you make lengthy molds. But you keep losing your objectives. And even though it's the first day of your sportfishing journey, you're already tired. Is there any way around these problems? I'll response the query this way: you display me an fisherman who can throw 80 or 90 legs, and I'll explain to you an fisherman who can perfectly and almost easily throw 50 or 60 legs. crossword puzzle help
