Big News and Big Changes!

First off, I feel as if I need to add a disclaimer to this incredibly vague title. No we are not shutting down Nawanda Files and disappearing off cyberspace. And...breathe. Okay, now for the crux of this post.

Some of you may know that Becca and I have been writing books for a pretty long time (actually way before we ever started blogging). This July we will be publishing our New Adult contemporary novel! It's both exciting and terrifying. As book reviewers, we're completely aware of the goods and bads that come with putting a piece of work out to the public. Becca has way more experience with this, having worked as a writer at The CW Atlanta. I'm a bit greener. But criticism is a natural part of being an author and I'm more than ready for it.

In honor of our new book, we now have an author website that you can visit HERE. But don't laugh because there is only one post and it's pretty sad right now. Wordpress is very different from Blogger and it's taking me a good deal of time to learn. I commend all you Wordpress users! Truly!

What does this mean about Nawanda Files and our blogging?  We're still planning to keep Nawanda Files up to date with plenty of books into movies news and some book reviews. I'm taking a gap year before I head off to medical school in 2014, which means that I'm going to have my hands full this summer with lots of bookish things.

Now for the important stuff. Our book! It's called ADDICTED TO YOU and will be released July 1st, 2013. The cover reveal will happen on May 3rd, 2013. If you want to join the cover reveal, feel free to shoot us an email or fill out the form HERE.

Here's the synopsis for ADDICTED TO YOU. You can also add it on Goodreads! (literally it just went up last night so the amount of people who've added it will look very sad for now)

Addicted to You
by Krista and Becca Ritchie
Series: Addicted #1
Release Date: July 1st, 2013

Two addictions. One lie.

No one would suspect shy, Lily Calloway’s biggest secret. While everyone is dancing at college bars, Lily stays in the bathroom. To get laid. Her compulsion leads her to one-night stands, steamy hookups and events she shamefully regrets. The only person who knows her secret happens to have one of his own.

Loren Hale’s best friend is his bottle of bourbon. Lily comes at a close second. For three years, they’ve pretended to be in a real relationship, hiding their addictions from their families. They’ve mastered the art of concealing flasks and random guys that filter in and out of their apartment.

But when they go on a family boat trip, surrounded by open seas and limited male bodies in sight, Lily’s confronted with a big fear. Only one guy onboard can fill her addiction, and she’s sworn off going there with Loren Hale ever again.

Now the only person who can truly help her, can barely help himself.

What do you think? Surprised that Becca and I are writers and soon-to-be authors? Like the concept? Or are you so over this New Adult genre ;) Sound off below!

    1. We're setting it up still. Or actually, Krista is setting it up and I'm watching lol. I'll let you know when we figure it out. I should be better at Wordpress, considering the CW uses it, but they barely allow me to touch anything except writing text in body paragraphs and adding links. The easy stuff.

  2. Guys, this is so amazing! Good on you :) Especially as you are writing it together...oh man, that's a real challenge! I'd love to see how you went about that, so I'm definitely keep my eyes on you two! :D

And of course, as a fellow aspiring author, I'm sooo happy that you are publishing. That in itself is AMAZING, and I can't jump up & down enough.

Although it seems like the type of NA novel that I'm currently sick of, I'm sure I'll end up buying one way or another because I just can't say no (they are like drugs, I'm a junkie) :P

    1. Yep, NA novels are definitely addictive :) I understand about genre-exhaustion. I swear off YA science fiction novels all the time, and then immediately miss them when I read a contemporary or paranormal book. Happens every time.
