Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.
THOUGHTS: Have you read this beginning? Holy cow, it's awesome. It involves an introduction to a dome-type world where her enemy traps her in quite a dramatic and lasting way. Basically it starts out with a bang ... and a few deaths.
THOUGHTS: This prologue may just be my all-time favorite. It's rich with imagery and describes Sean Kendrick's father and his love for water horses. It's so powerful that almost nothing in the book compares.
THOUGHTS: I absolutely love the beginning of this book. Bowman introduces us to Claysoot where the number of men dwindles every year because 18-year-old boys are "taken." I just wished outside of Claysoot could have been as interesting as inside.
THOUGHTS: OMG! This one will trick you in the beginning. No lie. I can't really give it away because it would be spoiler-territory, but after the first five pages you will be incredibly shocked.
THOUGHTS: I love this book, but after 5 plus years, I can only remember the beginning. So that must mean it's incredibly good to stick around in my head for all these years.
THOUGHTS: That last line. Wow, just wow. I can't quote it because it would give the whole book away, but it left me in shock a little bit. It was just a feeling like "this is over." I loved this book for it's Mean Girls quality -- and that ending solidified it as a favorite.
THOUGHTS: Twists, twists, twists and a sort-of HEA and a true longing for the next one. Love, love, love!
THOUGHTS: I had no idea where this one was going, and the cliffhanger didn't bother me at all. In fact, I loved it because I was so caught off guard half the time.
THOUGHTS: Grab the tissues! This ending was heart breaking and poignant. As a whole, this one turned out to be the best book of the three in the Unearthly series.
THOUGHTS: I didn't predict all of what would happen. And that's the best part of a brilliant thriller. A shocking AND satisfying ending, but it also leaves me desperately wanting the sequel.
