Series: Birthright #1
Publisher:  Simon Pulse
Release Date: January 13th, 2014

Vivi’s animal instincts are her legacy—and maybe her downfall—in this start to a romantic fantasy series that will appeal to fans of The Nine Lives of Chloe King.

Vivi has known the truth about her family—and herself—since she was thirteen. But that doesn’t mean she’s accepted it. Being Haguari isn’t something she feels she’ll ever accept. How can she feel like anything but a freak knowing that it’s in her genes to turn into a jaguar?

Now eighteen, Vivi’s ready to break away from the traditions of her heritage. But all of that changes with the shocking, devastating deaths of her parents and the mysteries left behind. Vivi discovers family she never even knew she had, and a life open with possibility. New friends, new loyalties, and even romance all lay ahead—but so do dangers unlike anything Vivi ever could have imagined.

Why I'm Waiting...

I actually love Cate Tiernan's writing. After reading Immortal Beloved, I can say that I'm a fan. Combine her writing with shapeshifters (my fav paranormal) and I think this one may be a winner! The only real bummer about this book is that damn cover. I hate when the series title is bigger than the title of the book. And in this case it's baaaaaad. I can barely even read the actual title! Darkest Fear you say? Cuz...I'm gettin' old and I can't see it. Otherwise...gimme gimme *grabby hands* :)

Have you heard of this? What are you waiting on? Don't forget to leave you links in the comments!

  2. Hahahaha. You and old? Come on! I love this cover and I love the premise, I love the girl on the cover (she's so pretty, I might just have a little girl crush lol) and I haven't read Immortal Beloved series so yeah.. I plan to read it soon though. Lauren at Love is Not a Triangle and my hair dresser (she's a family friend of ours and an avid reader as well) both love this series and it's enough to get meexcited. Plus, now I know that you're a fan as well;) YAY! Grabby hands, indeed, babe!

  4. What, the title is smaller than the series name? This is weird.

I haven't come across this book before and now I'm curious.

  5. I've never heard of this one, but I have heard of the author! Interesting how the title is printed smaller than the series name. I think Egmont did that with Bree Despain's new book. I'm convinced the book is called Into The Dark, and really, it's The Shadow Prince.

Hope you enjoy this one when you get to read it! :)

    Check out my WoW post!

  6. I was at the library the other day and saw all the Tiernan books but I thought they wouldn't be good so I didn't pick them up. Too bad, since you said you liked them! Maybe next time. I don't care for this cover either, black and white really doesn't suit book covers, in my opinion. Thanks for stopping by our posts! :)

  7. Wow, I didn't know Cate Tiernan has a new book coming out! I've been planning to read her other series for SO long but keep putting them off. This one doesn't sound appealing to me but maybe I'll get to it if I love her other books.

Thanks for dropping by my WoW post! :D
