Which Fall '13 New Shows Do You Want Us to Review?

We are TV junkies. I am certifiable in this arena, and I went as far to learn more about television in college. Thankfully I did land a job centering on TV for quite some time (shout out to The CW) and the best moment of my life is when Steven R. McQueen (Jeremy from TVD) picked me up after I interviewed him. Yes, it all happened. Some days I wonder if I created it all in my head. I wouldn't be surprised. My imagination is scary.

Digression aside, we're going to be watching all of the new dramas and most likely the sitcoms too on TV this year, and since we do movie reviews, we thought it would  be fun to review the pilot (the first episode of the new show) to see whether or not the show is something you should watch too. And if you already watched the show, you'll have our pretty opinionated take on it. When it comes to television, we don't hold back.

So you have the power, lovely people. You make the choices of what reviews we'll be writing. Because, I assure you, we will be watching all of these, but we'll only review the ones that matter to you.

Poll Details: We will choose the top 4 shows to review. You can only pick four from the list.

    1. Haha, in college my social life centered on tv some nights. I'd have a bunch of girls come over my dorm to watch TVD and Gossip Girl.

  2. Agents of SHIELD, The Originals, The Tomorrow People and Dracula are all on my must-watch list. Therefore they are ones you must cover haha.

I'm also really intrigued by Once Upon A Time In Wonderland! I can't wait to see this take on the story.

Definitely some great shows coming up. I have a feeling I won't be getting out much!

  4. Oh yay, I'm not the only one who voted for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D! So curious about that show and how it will all work. And definitely Once Upon a Time in Wonderland! I think those are the only new shows I will be attempting this year.

    1. Me too! S.H.I.E.L.D could be a hit or miss I think. Hopefully it is a hit, but we'll see :D

    1. I have mixed feelings about Sleepy Hollow. I loved the end of the pilot though and I think it showed more promise for future episodes than I expected.

  6. I've not seen any of these shows and haven't heard of a lot of them, but the picture of the Millers is hilarious!

    1. That poster is pretty funny. I get a laugh out of the Goldbergs one which is like an 80s family portrait. That show looks hilarious.

  7. THE ORIGINALS!!!!!!! :D I know you'll review it even if there wasn't a voting in the mix lol. I hope you do:) Can't wait for a gif review hehe;)

    1. I thought The Originals would be number one! I think I may have to review it regardless if it makes the top for ;) And we'll definitely try to add some gifs!!

  8. I voted! <3 But you should do THE 100 when it comes out too. Very curious how it compares to the book since my biggest issues with the book was that it read like a tv show.

    1. I've already seen The 100 pilot, so maybe I'll do a review after I've read the book. I'm curious to see how they match. That's strange that the book read like a tv show. I've never had that happen to me before.

  9. Voted! There are quite some series I'm SO EXCITED about :D

  10. I haven't see The Tomorrow People, I'm definitely going to have to check it out, the poster looks awesomely creepy :)

    1. You should definitely check out anything by the CW -- it's the best network on television (and yes, I'm a little biased, but still, it's awesome.) Wednesday nights are Amell nights because Arrow and The Tomorrow People are on and both the actors in each show are cousins (both Amells). So Wednesdays are going to be sexy :D

  11. I can't wait to see what you think. I'm excited by all the Dramas coming out but not sure about the comedies so I would love to see a review for those.

    1. I'm always iffy about the comedies too, but usually I'll give them one episode to just see. Hopefully one of the comedies will make it in the top 4 then!

  12. Just saw "Sleepy Hollow" I enjoyed it. Recently saw a commercial for "The Tomorrow People" and it intrigued me, so I'm waiting for that one.

Oh Jonathan, I shall forgive you for "City Of Bones" if "Dracula" blows me away...

    1. The special effects in The Tomorrow People are so, so cool.

And double yes about Dracula. I will be watching just for him :D

  13. Unluckily, neither me or my family watches TV! The only things we watch on the television are films, which are great, but times like this, I really wish we had cable. Actually, we DO, but we're just too lazy to go fix it up. >.< But still, I've heard of quite a few of these, so I'm going to put in my vote. Some of the shows listed down sound crazy awesome, like THE TOMORROW PEOPLE, AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D (<- of course! Agent Coulson <3), and SLEEPY HOLLOW. Maybe I can live through your reviews a little bit. (So be more detailed when you write them, okay? ;D)

    1. *gasp* you did not just say that! No TV? That sounds like a world without chocolate. TV is like the thing that has connected my family together throughout childhood. Which sounds sad, but it's actually quite interesting that something like a program can impact the togetherness of my family.

Films are good though! You could always get Hulu and catch up on the shows yourself ;) If you haven't seen The Vampire Diaries, you're missing out, Meg. It's the best! I'll be sure to be extra detailed in our reviews and include some gifs of the show for you!

  14. Wait, wait wait! Steven R. McQueen picked you up after you interviewed him...DETAILS girl! I need details. How could I miss that. Damn. You're lucky. I voted! :)

    1. YES, YES, YES. It happened. And I have picture-proof. Although my butt looks huge in the picture, but still, it's there. http://www.nawandafiles.com/2013/03/behind-blog-get-to-know-creators.html Thanks for voting, Tanja!

  15. Unlike you girlies, I am not a TV junkie, while I love Under The Dome, My Little Pony and Pretty Little Liars, that's all I really bother to watch. Sad fact: I haven't heard of like most of those titles...

    Thanks for sharing anyways! <33

    1. You should try The Vampire Diaries out. The first three seasons have some of the best tv writing, and it's incredibly addicting :D I watched the first episode of Under the Dome, but I just couldn't make myself watch the next one. And same with Pretty Little Liars -- I think that one had more to do with the fact that I didn't like the books though.

    1. I'm hoping Reign turns out to be a new fall hit! It has all the makings to be one! I actually stopped The Walking Dead after season 2. It was a little slow for me. I think wandering zombies just aren't my thing -- in tv and YA books.

  18. This is a good idea! Since I don't have cable and get all my TV from the Internet/Netflix a review of a pilot of a show would be great, that way I can figure out what to look up and if it's worth it.

I might be watching Dracula though just for the fact that Johnathan Rhys Meyers is a hottie!
