We're Going to YALL Fest! Will You Be There?

We're going to the Young Adult Book Festival this Saturday at Charleston!! If any of you lovely readers/bloggers will be there you may spot us. We're identical twins so we're kind of hard to miss :)

Becca and I are so excited to attend this fest. There are so many great authors attending (even Veronica Roth!). Here are the authors and panels we're most looking forward to:

Libba Bray (The Diviners), Cinda Chima (The Heir Chronicles), Melissa de la Cruz (Witches of East End), Mike Johnston (Frozen),  Lisa McMann (Crash), Veronica Rossi (Under the Never Sky)
Moderator: Leigh Bardugo (The Grisha Trilogy)

Why we're excited: We've been to lots of panels and signings (even YALL Fest last year) but I have yet to see/hear/look upon Veronica Rossi or Libba Bray. I'm so excited to hear these ladies speak! Plus, with Leigh Bardugo moderating -- you really can't go wrong.

All our Southern authors! Michelle Hodkin (The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer), David Macinnis Gill (Rising Sun), C.J. Lyons (Broken), Myra McEntire (Hourglass), Stephanie Perkins (Lola and the Boy Next Door), Carrie Ryan (The Forest of Hands and Teeth), Victoria Schwab, J.E. Thompson
Moderator: Brendan Reichs (Virals)

Why we're excited: Yay for the South! We saw Myra McEntire at the Decatur Book Fest this year and she is hilarious. So we can't wait to see her again in this panel. Michelle Hodkin, Stephanie Perkins, and (of course) Victoria Schwab will be great!

“Girl Power, Boy Power” A Conversation with Veronica Roth (Divergent) and Rae Carson (The Girl of Fire and Thorns)

Why we're excited: This will probably be the only time we ever get to see Veronica Roth (now that she's so popular). So I'm really curious to see what these two ladies have to say. Plus, the keynote is usually informal and lots of fun!

Rachel Cohn & David Levithan (Naomi & Ely’s No Kiss List), Melissa de la Cruz (Witches of West End), Gayle Forman (If I Stay)
Moderator: Margaret Stohl (Beautiful Creatures)

Why we're excited: Hollywood! They will probably be talking about the books into movies, and we're obsessed with adaptations. I'm so excited for If I Stay and I know Rachel Cohn's Beta just got optioned for TV while Witches of East End is currently playing on Lifetime. This is a must see panel for sure!

Those are our most anticipated but there are lots of other panels. And since they put three panels on during the same time, you have to make some tough choices if you do go. We'll try to have a recap next week when we get back :)

  1. This sounds like tons of fun! I wish I were going. Hope you have tons of fun and I can't wait to see your recap post!

    1. Thanks Kelly! I'm going to make Krista take all the notes :DD

  2. Oh boyy. I'm so jealous of you girls. You better recap it, I say :D I want to hear everything! I'm already hyperventilating from seeing the names of these authors, I don't know what I'd do in person. I'd love to go and meet them and meet YOU guys! Though.. since I'm across the Atlantic right now, I don't know how that's possible. I'll be with you girls in my mind though :) Good luck and have tons of fun!

    1. Lol! We'll be sure to pay attention so we'll have good tidbits to share. I get so shy around authors. It's crazy. I turn into a turtle and start hiding in my shell. When I'm around celebrities, it's even worse!

  3. I'm so jealous! Leigh Bardugo!! And Carrie Ryan L:D Have fun!

  4. Guys, I am so beyond jealous here! I'm in the UK and, I gotta say, we rarely ever get such cool book festivals. Maybe I'll move to the US just for this stuff? Haha. Have fun!

    - Allie @ Little Birdie Books

  5. Ahh the jealousy. If I could, I would totally go. :p Enjoy it, and recap it really well! I'll live vicariously through you two.

    -P.E. @ The Sirenic Codex

  6. Why haven't we invented teleportation yet? I could use it now. So many amazing authors will be there and I know you'll enjoy it. I cannot wait to see recap. Have fun girls :)

  7. Ooh I'm so jealous, this sounds so fun! Hope you have a fabulous time, and I'm looking forward to hearing all about it :)

  8. Yay! I'm hoping you girls are having fun right this very moment! ;D<3

  9. HOW WAS IT!?! Did you get to meet Veronica Rossi???

    1. I keep postponing a recap! Argh! It was AWESOME! It's seriously my favorite book event because the authors don't just pimp out their books (though I do love hearing about their books too). They talk about general writing stuff and personal issues. I saw V.Rossi on a panel and she was amazing!! Becca and I decided to forgo the signing this year because they take hours and you have to sacrifice seeing panels to wait in line, but it was awesome just hearing her speak :) :)

I should seriously write up a recap post soon, lol!
