Addicted to You (Addicted, #1)
Addicted to You
by Krista & Becca Ritchie
Release Date: July 1st, 2013
No one would suspect shy, Lily Calloway’s biggest secret. While everyone is dancing at college bars, Lily stays in the bathroom. To get laid. Her compulsion leads her to one-night stands, steamy hookups and events she shamefully regrets. The only person who knows her secret happens to have one of his own.

Loren Hale’s best friend is his bottle of bourbon. Lily comes at a close second. For three years, they’ve pretended to be in a real relationship, hiding their addictions from their families. They’ve mastered the art of concealing flasks and random guys that filter in and out of their apartment.

But when they go on a family boat trip, surrounded by open seas and limited male bodies in sight, Lily’s confronted with a big fear. Only one guy onboard can fill her addiction, and she’s sworn off going there with Loren Hale ever again.

Now the only person who can truly help her, can barely help himself.

Review

I begged Becca to write this review since she's the comic book guru, and I've yet to crack open New X-men, which she's read and re-read. But alas she just finished a grueling 48 hour study period and back-to-back three hours finals, so you're all stuck with my review. Which will contain quite a bit of gushing but less insight into the Marvel lore.

Interview with D.L. Miles, Author of Threads of Chaos

Threads of Chaos
Threads of Chaos
by D.L. Miles
Release Date: April 29th, 2013

"When the fate of one is changed, everything changes. One person changes everything."

Mercy Singer died five months ago, but the doctor’s managed to bring her back. And she was told by her new therapist that it was normal to think there was danger around every corner, and that seeing things was part of the healing process. What Mercy hasn’t told anyone is how vivid her dreams are, how it’s not actually her dying in them, and she also hasn’t mentioned the conversations she’s had with people that vanish.

And when the new boy in town, Tristan Holmes, finds her freaking out in the street, claiming to see a man that isn’t there, she thinks her return to school might have been too soon. Until his sister approaches her, claiming to know what’s going on, and that she wants to help Mercy.

Now numbers keep floating around Mercy’s head, and she knows it’s a countdown to something big. There’s a darkness coming to Balefire Bay High, and she thinks she’s the only one that can stop it.

Interview

What inspired you to write Threads of Chaos
I liked the lore around Banshee’s, foretelling death.  I had a little thought, and that thought became a book (after quite a few rewrites!).

Paranormal elements thrive in this book! What drew you to this darker genre?
I grew up in it.  My childhood was spent watching Buffy or reading horror novels I probably should not have been reading.  I just love the genre, and now when I say that I don’t get the weird looks I used to get.

Our Thoughts on...The Cover

We're a little biased here at Nawanda Files, but both Becca and I are absolutely in love with that cover! It's everything we could have ever imagined, and so we owe our biggest gratitude to Hafsah at Icey Designs for pulling out yet another incredible creation. Let us know in the comments what you think :) And be sure to enter the giveaway below for a chance to win a New Adult book of your choice.

Caught in a world on the brink of spiritual evolution, Jesse struggles to understand Elspeth even as frightening contacts from his sister force him to face the secret, shattering meaning of a verse he knows well: Blessed are the poor in ghost.

Waiting on Wednesday: Tandem by Anna Jarzab

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine spotlighting upcoming releases that readers are eagerly anticipating

Tandem (Many-Worlds, #1)
Tandem
by Anna Jarzab
Series: Many-Worlds #1
Publisher: Delacorte Books for Young Readers
Release Date: October 8th, 2013

Everything repeats.
You. Your best friend. Every person you know.
Many worlds. Many lives--infinite possibilities.
Welcome to the multiverse.

Sixteen-year-old Sasha Lawson has only ever known one small, ordinary life. When she was young, she loved her grandfather's stories of parallel worlds inhabited by girls who looked like her but led totally different lives. Sasha never believed such worlds were real--until now, when she finds herself thrust into one against her will.

To prevent imminent war, Sasha must slip into the life of an alternate version of herself, a princess who has vanished on the eve of her arranged marriage. If Sasha succeeds in fooling everyone, she will be returned home; if she fails, she'll be trapped in another girl's life forever. As time runs out, Sasha finds herself torn between two worlds, two lives, and two young men vying for her love--one who knows her secret, and one who thinks she's someone she's not.

The first book in the Many-Worlds Trilogy, Tandem is a riveting saga of love and betrayal set in parallel universes in which nothing--and no one--is what it seems.

Why I'm Waiting...

That cover! Beyond gorgeous. I haven't read any books about "alternate" worlds yet. Krista devoured Pivot Point in one sitting, and the idea of two different worlds harks back to that novel (or at least that's what it reminds me of). But this one sounds super cool with the addition of Sasha as a princess. Mix in fantasy with science fiction and I'm there.

Have you heard of this? What are you waiting on? Don't forget to leave you links in the comments!
