I'm Back! (Sort of) & The Post Where I Pimp Out Witches of East End

So you may have noticed that I haven't posted on Nawanda Files for months. That's crazy! I've been a book blogger for 2+ before my indefinite hiatus (unannounced) back in June. The truth is, blogging is super time consuming and I just haven't had enough free time to devote to it. Right now, Becca and I are focusing on writing and promoting our books, so book blogging has sadly taken a backseat.

And also, somewhere last Spring blogging felt a little more like work than it once used to. I tried really hard to climb out of the blogging slump, only to be sucked back underneath it.

So...I'm back to say that I really want to try to blog more (but may only a couple times a month). I truly do love blogging. Nawanda Files has opened up so many doors to friendships and the bookish world. I can't begin to imagine what my life would be like if I didn't start this blog two years ago.

My posts maybe more book adaptations-centric since I have soft spot for books into TV and books into movies. Which brings me to today's post...

WITCHES OF EAST END

If you're not watching this show, you're not living. In all honesty, I was super hesitant to start it. For one, it's on Lifetime. And what I know about Lifetime is soapy drama movies with terrible acting. Secondly, I started the pilot and I wasn't sold. The script was a little...cheesy.

But I'm here to tell you WATCH THE WHOLE FREAKIN SEASON. I binged on Netflix and it's beyond addicting. The writing gets better, the plots get jucier and the actors are really amazing.

Big cheers to Melissa de la Cruz for writing a great series with a great adaptation!

And now for the gifs. Because if my words don't persuade you, these will...

Killian: Daniel DiTomasso might be the sexiest actor on TV right now. He's originally a model and this is his first big gig. Not too shabby! And he can act, you guys! He's one of the best parts of the show. Hands down.

Freya and Killian: The romance really develops nicely. It starts out as a hate-flirting kinda thing, but it's clear how much chemistry they have together.

Girl Power: If you're a fan of Charmed and you miss the sister bonds, then this is the show for you. All the women on the show are incredible and each have their own inner-strength and amazing (sexy!) storyline.

The Plot: It's seriously phenomenal. And it's how I got my sister to watch the show. Basically: there are four witches and they have all been cursed. Wendy: Only has 9 Lives (like a cat). Joanna: Has immortality, but her two daughters always die in their twenties and then she has to birth them again and repeat the process (heartbreaking!) Frey and Ingrid: Are Joanna's daughters cursed to always die young and forget their "past" lives when they're reborn. So yeah. It's pretty cool!

Frederick: He's new to season 2, but I am a huge Christian Cooke fan, so I'd thought I'd throw up this gifs. *swoon*

The humor: There are lots of funny moments and the show is way less cheesy than I thought it was. Wendy is my favorite just because she brings the sassy and the humor so well.

Alrighty...that's it. Hopefully you'll at least try out the first episode. It's really a fantastic show with a great cast, and I hope that it continues on for more seasons.

*I did not personally make any of the gifs, if you find one that is yours and you'd like me to take it down/give you credit. Just shoot me an email :)
